Nope, I didin't have to sign up. Just click the link to the chat and change the name of your user. Then whenever you go there your name is always there. Or atleast its how it works for me xD

TjStarr is right. All you need to do is choose a nickname once you're on the chat, and type in the box whatever you want. Then press enter to send the message.
